SOJA DE PORTUGAL was represented by João Pedro Azevedo, Chairman of the Executive Board, in the debate LEME held at the Pavilion of Knowledge.

SOJA DE PORTUGAL, as a member of the LIDE Economia do Mar, plays a very strong role in the dissemination and defense of the sea, one of the most valuable national and global resources. In this logic, it becomes essential to unveil and to embrace its innumerable secrets and mysteries, because when unveiled, they will provide fortune and well-being to all the countries that contribute to their discovery.

In this context, following the commitment of social responsibility undertaken in 2010, PwC presented the 4th edition of the "LEME - PWC Barometer of the Economy of the Sea", which this year was dedicated to knowledge, addressing topics such as: "What will be the topography of the Seabed? "; "How will we be able to inventory and monitor fish species?" "What cures of diseases hide the oceans?" "What powers do the bacteria of the sea have?" "What minerals does the deep sea hide?" "How can the effects of maritime phenomena of extreme violence be prevented?"; "How to avoid acidification of the oceans?"; "How to reverse the melting of the sea in Polar Regions?"; "How to operate at great depth?"

At the end of this study, a tool was made available to clarify the current situation of the Sea Economy in Portugal, as well as its prospects for future evolution. All this integrated into an observation tool that allows its users to extract useful information in an easy and fast way.
